On Ira - Quick Star - Schiron Z
2026 Bay Westfalen filly
High Level Jumper Prospect
A powerhouse with a strong pedigree!
Oro Fiera QTM is a striking filly with a big personality, tremendous confidence, and an impressive jumping pedigree, making her an exciting prospect for a rider looking toward the higher levels of the sport. She is a more compact model, athletic and modern, with the attitude of a horse that believes she can take on the world.
Fearless and naturally curious, Oro approaches life with plenty of confidence and personality. She has already developed the habit of jumping the paddock gate when she decides it is time to come back to the barn, much to her mother's opinion on the matter! That bold, forward-thinking attitude is exactly what makes her so fun to watch.
During the Westfalen inspection, Oro earned an overall score of 7.4. The judges described her as a medium-sized, modern filly with a good topline, highlighting her rhythmic trot, powerful canter and balanced gaits.
Her sire, On Ira, is a 2002 Selle Français stallion by Voltaire, out of Baby Boom IV by Joyau D’Or A (Alme), and a maternal half-brother to the 1.60m Elite stallion Krack Boom. A proven international performer, On Ira was a finalist at Fontainebleau as a 6-year-old, double clear at the World Championships in Lanaken at 7, and the best 8-year-old at the CSIO5* of La Baule. Under Cian O’Connor, he competed successfully at the international level, including jumping 2.20m in the puissance at the CSIO of Rome and placing 2nd at the CSIO of Dublin. His pedigree, scope, and proven performance make him a valuable sire for producing high-level sport horses.
Her dam, Quick Silver, competed successfully up to 1.35m before joining the broodmare band at New Normandy Farm, where she produced two foals—one of which was retained by the program. She is a robust and scopey mare with a generous temperament and outstanding soundness post-career. Her sire, Quick Star, was a Grand Prix sensation under Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum and has gone on to become one of the most successful sires in modern show jumping, with offspring like Big Star and Star Power shining on the world stage, including at the 2012 London Olympics.
Oro’s second dam, Rye Grass Sadowy, was bred in Argentina and served as a broodmare in Chile. She is by Schiron Z, a direct son of Cor de la Bryère out of Rubina Z (Ramiro x Almé). Rubina Z is the full sister to 1.60m jumper Riviera Z and 1.50m jumper Raspoetin Z. Schiron himself jumped to 1.50m and produced multiple approved sons and top sport horses.
Her third dam, Dorinne, was sired by Ferrum (Quelqu’un x Mexico), a Selle Français stallion known for producing high-level jumpers, including the 1.60m performer Baltimore.
The fourth dam, Petra, was by the legendary Lugano van la Roche, one of Belgium’s foundational sires. Lugano produced 28 approved sons, including Darco, a world-class competitor and one of the most influential sires in show jumping history.
